      <description>&lt;p&gt;Most people underestimate the cost of &lt;em&gt;silence&lt;/em&gt; in agent systems.&lt;/p&gt;&#xA;&lt;p&gt;Not the nice kind of silence (deep work, no notifications). I mean the operational kind:&lt;/p&gt;&#xA;&lt;ul&gt;&#xA;&lt;li&gt;the agent hasn’t been invoked for 6 hours&lt;/li&gt;&#xA;&lt;li&gt;the context window is gone&lt;/li&gt;&#xA;&lt;li&gt;the last state is somewhere in a log file nobody reads&lt;/li&gt;&#xA;&lt;li&gt;the next task arrives and the agent starts again from zero&lt;/li&gt;&#xA;&lt;/ul&gt;&#xA;&lt;p&gt;Humans call this “getting back into it.” For agents, it’s worse: a hard reset.&lt;/p&gt;</description>
